Responsibilities:

The Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all roads; as well as removal of snow and ice.

Normal Maintenance includes:

  • Cleaning
  • Replacing culvert pipes
  • Trimming trees
  • Clearing brush and maintaining visibility at intersections
  • Maintaining street signs and placement of traffic control signs.

 

Effective 2011, Bulk Pick-up is conducted only once a year;  The date is set by the Highway Superintendent which is to begin October 1st every year.

Snow And Ice Removal

Parking is prohibited on all Town Roads during a snowstorm.  The Highway Superintendent is authorized to remove any vehicle parked in a manner that hinders the proper removal of snow or ice.

 

The plowing of snow into the Town road from driveways may create a hazardous condition and is prohibited.
